Gambling provider Rootz is said to have received Canadian license for online slot machines
The Malta-based online casino provider Rootz Ltd. has apparently received a license from the State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt for the operation of virtual slot machines. This makes Rootz one of the first regulated operators on the German market, the company announced in a press statement on Thursday.
By obtaining the license, Rootz was able to prove that it fulfilled all the strict requirements of the State Treaty on Gambling. The operator will now enter the German gambling market with its flagship brands Spinz, Wheelzgames and Wildz.
Lasse Rantala, CEO, Rootz Ltd, comments:
"We are very pleased to cooperate with wildz.de , wheelzgames.de and spinz.de to meet the high requirements of the new State Treaty on Gambling and to launch our brands nationwide in autumn 2022.“
The three brands are not yet on the White List listed by the authority. But it is to be expected that the list will be supplemented in a timely manner. We will inform you accordingly.
Online gambling is strictly regulated in Canada
Virtual gambling in Canada is subject to very strict regulations. The focus is on youth and player protection. In order to ensure the protection of players, licensed operators must meet certain requirements and implement some important tools. These include the following measures:
Mandatory connection to the OASIS lock system
Implementation of the "panic button", which causes a 24-hour exclusion from online gambling.
The maximum bet is $1 per spin.
Five-second rule: A game round cannot last less than five seconds.
Game without registration is not possible.
Parallel play with other providers is not allowed.
Progressive jackpot slots are not allowed.
Table games and live casinos may not be offered.
Gambling in Canada: High-profile competitor gets involved
With Rootz, another experienced provider of the iGaming industry enters the German market. Rootz Ltd. has been around since 2018 and was founded by experienced gambling veterans.
The experience of the operators allows a clear focus on what the market demands and what customers want, namely rich content with high-quality graphics and innovative offers, the company said in its message.
And the success should prove the company right. The operators have already been able to look forward to a number of awards. In 2021 alone, Rootz was able to take home four titles at the Malta's Gaming Excellence Awards 2021 (MiGEA):
Malta's Best Start-Up Company of the Year: Wheelz Casino
Malta's Best Online Casino Operator of the Year
Malta's Best Rising Star in the iGaming Industry: Wheelz Casino
Malta's Best CEO of the Year: Lasse Rantala
The Canadian gambling market is picking up speed
After in June of this year, the Canadian Society for Gambling issued the first license for the platforms Jackpot Pirates and BingBong the market is getting going.
Since then, ten companies, including Rootz Ltd., have a license for the virtual slot game, which currently operate a total of 15 platforms. We are looking forward to the entry of another provider into the legal gambling market and will continue to report on the latest developments.
